Sacred Heights of Srirangam - Original Art

As part of my India on My Easel journey, I had the incredible opportunity to paint the magnificent Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), Tamil Nadu, directly on location. Standing before this extraordinary temple and painting its towering gopuram was a deeply joyful and almost divine experience for me as an artist.

The scale, intricate details, vibrant colors, and spiritual atmosphere of this historic South Indian temple were truly inspiring. As a plein air watercolor artist, I wanted to capture not just the architecture, but also the feeling of being there—the light, the atmosphere, and the sense of devotion surrounding this remarkable place. Painting this Srirangathaswamy Temple painting on the spot allowed me to experience the temple in a completely different and deeply personal way.
